First off, I don't think this has to do with the chip or Power Hungry Performance.
I put my chip in today and now my radio is picking up a lot of interference/static. My radio used to be pretty clear, but now is really scratchy. What could cause this, did I loosen something up while putting the chip in? I removed both of the positive battery terminals for the install, and I have not mounted the switch yet, so I didn't even get into the dash yet. Kind of at a loss here? I know it is something I did, but just don't know where to start looking? |

I have a stock radio and speakers BTW.

My first thoughts are that you may have routed a wire near radio's antenna connection, or the antenna wire, but I haven't heard of that before.
Also when you do the batteries, disconnect the negative first, that way you won't accidental short out the battery by touching the wrench to the positive terminal and any other metal at the same time.

After doing some research, I think I might need one of these?
RadioShack® Snap-Together Ferrite Choke Core - RadioShack.com I have found several post where people had issues after a TS switch install and this fixed it. |

Just wanted to report back. The interference is definately coming from the cord for the switch. Like I said before I have not mounted my switch yet, so if I stick the cord & switch in my door pocket away from the dash the radio returns to normal. If I lay it over the steering column like I had it after I first installed it the interference returns. With that said, I am confident the ferrite choke will fix my problem. I have not had a chance to go by Radio Shack yet, I will report back when I do.

I finally picked up a choke today, I'll report back after I get it put on... I am confident this will take care of it. |

Just a heads up. The choke helped my issue, I put two as close to the base as I could. They were $2.99 at Radio Shack BTW.
