    Re: LOCK UP

I wouldn't say that there's little need for it. Some driving conditions arise when the "mod" would be quite handy because no matter how much time is spent writing a calibration that will do all of...

    Re: LOCK UP

You shouldn't have any problems at all unless something goes wrong with the torque converter control. In other words, you won't experience any more of an issue using something like this whether...

Re: Winter project in the works.

I made a little progress this weekend.

Engine sitting there supported on the frame and by a jack under the rear of the pan (to keep it from tipping backward only).

Re: Winter project in the works.

The first year of marriage took a toll on "me-time" and since the shop is now technically a "heated shop" as of October, I will be able to blast through work at home.

Holy cow. More than a year late starting this again. I drove it all summer with the lift and it turns out that I really like it this way.

I finally put it in the shop and started...
  6. Re: Hydra Chip - Hydra Flash Software Issue Need Help

You'll have to call PHP. There are some driver/administration permissions that are a bit, well, RETARDED in Windows 8 if I'm not mistaken.

Anything past Windows XP is pretty dumb but I realize...

    Re: No start

Remove the chip and see if it starts. If it does, then you have a chip connection problem, a chip problem, or a calibration problem. Programming the chip with the wrong box code is not an issue and...

    Bill, if you have time.....

The VGAE9 definition has a listing in the parameters menu (at the section 4 start) "******Do not use values below this". You weren't kidding.

There is a guy with an E99 van I'm trying...
  9. Re: Rough idle when decelerating with new tunes on Hydra

There is no way that stock calibrations are going to work with injectors with larger nozzles as they will do exactly what you are saying they are doing.

For the injectors to run correctly, tuning...

Re: New to me 7.3 questions

Here's what you need to see.

    "Tools" in menu bar (green).

Insert your current HEX code or box code (red).

    See the recommended calibration (blue).

162The body lift is on. I'll have the bumpers on tonight. Surprisingly, it looks better to me like this than stock height.....must be my pickup-favoring DNA.

    Re: Stacking Tunes

With the device you have now, the 6 position chip, the only thing you would be able to "stack" with it would be something like a Banks Six Gun, Stinger, Edge Juice, or any of those injection pressure...

Re: Winter project in the works.

Engine mounts are done. The weather isn't as nice today and working in a heavy coat sucks, especially with a hood while rolling around on a creeper.

The engine will sit up about another 1/4" in...

Here's last week's oil pan project. I gained an inch and a half in the front and almost three inches in the rear. The sump should fit just about flush with the bottom of the engine crossmember.

This puts a damper on progress in a shop with grossly insufficient heating. When I was a younger man, that wouldn't stop me. But the older I get the less I want to work in the cold.
