Pipe schedules only relate to durability and wear.
It also indicates pipe wall thickness and years of expected use.
I could have a sch10+sch40+sch80 and all 3 could be rated at 300 psi.

Hope this helps?

What is "Sch 40"? I was just looking in the Plumbing department.

Thanks, 88! :thumbs up yellow: I knew I should have let you answer that, since it's in "your field".

Will PVC-DWM SCH-40 Foam Core work? If not then I'm screwed because thats all anybody has around here. Nothing in the 3" except foam core.

Yeah, I think that will work. Is it only about a 1/4 inch thick? Just make sure that the 3" connector will fit over it. I just checked the scrap I have and it says 3 inch coex cellular core. It looks like it has a super fine foam(an offwhite color) between two thinner white layers.

We kinda got off track. If the inside diameter is 3 inches, the material is rigid and it will fit in your connector then it will work. You dont have to use a specific material for this, just something that will work.

Sweet! Yea thats what mine says and looks like. Tag on the shelf called it Foam Core. Just wanted to make sure. Time to break out the sander i guess. :woot:

You dont have to use a sander if you dont want to. I used a regular hack saw to cut a notch then cleaned it up with my pocket knife and it turned out just fine.

Made a(possible) interesting discovery. This is the piece, that goes into the fender, from the S&B CAI being removed.

It's exactly the right size(obviously) to fit the hole. Couldn't it be made to work and not need the PVC?

Longshot270 Fri, June 4th, 2010 03:24 PM

That will fit into the fender perfectly but the intake might be just a bit too far away to connect. Try it and take some pictures so we can see.
