Gryphon for 08 F-250 5.4L

Hey Corey and Bill,

I remember emailing you guys back in October i believe about this but my dad purchased a 08 F-250 5.4L over the summer. Now i understood why he did this because at that time gas was expensive and he thought it might stay that way.

Plus he didnt want a diesel because of the noise and smell. which i also understand

However, not only did he get the 5.4L but he also got a crew cab with an 8 foot bed, and immiediatly got new wheels and tires (18's on 34's). So that little 5.4L is doing the best it can.

He only uses it when he goes hunting so luckily it is not a DD but he is hoping to get some more power out of it.

Last time we guys talked you said you would have one in about 45 days, i understand you guys have alot of custom tunes, families etc etc etc

BUT

just wondering if you have a new time frame for it?

Thanks!

from both me and especially my dad!

dont mean to bug ya Bill but what about my original question?? ;)

Power Hungry Thu, January 15th, 2009 02:10 AM

Man, I completely missed the original question. :yikes2:

My biggest issue right now is I am under pressure to get the 2009 F150 completed and ready to go which will unfortunately delay the late F-250 5.4L release a couple more weeks. I have all that I need programming-wise, I just need to finish the details in the
firmware to handle all the memory addressing and such.

As soon as we have the 2009 F150 completed, I'll be back on the big gasser stuff (v8 & v10) and don't expect it to take more than about 10 to 15 days to complete which would put it around mid to late Feb.

Hope this helps.

any update?

We've just finished up the 6.4L stuff last week and I need a week or two to get caught up on the current backlog of custom orders. After that we'll be back onto projects. I don't have a specific time frame, but expect we should see something later this summer.

Take care.

i have PM'd one of you a long time ago but never got a response. to you have a time frame for this?

Power Hungry Mon, October 5th, 2009 12:59 AM

Taylor,

I've got the firmware finished for the F-Super 5.4L/6.8L but just haven't finished the calibrations yet. I'm looking at about 2 weeks before we are ready to BETA test the programmer. Give me a call this week and I'll get you details on BETA testing if you're interested. I may even be able to see about getting you over to Dynomite for a dyno test. :2thumbs:

Take care.

Hey Bill,

So my dad is excited about getting his truck dyno'd and becoming a beta tester if possible.

he is wanting to buy a cold air intake but is wondering if you want him to dyno his truck totally stock, except for a SI/DO exhaust?

if all this is possible, please get back to me, we are happy to help out anyway we can

Thanks

Taylor

Taylor,

I'd prefer to get some bone stock values. Once those are completed, we can try a CAI and see what gains those produce. If anything like the F150, I wouldn't expect too much.

As soon as we're ready to go, we'll make an announcement. :2thumbs:

Take care.

th3godf4th3r Sun, December 6th, 2009 12:36 PM

well did we ever get this project completed or still trying? i know you guys have been busy the last 2 months

Power Hungry Thu, December 17th, 2009 05:38 AM

We're still finishing the calibrations. Between Corey being out, the holidays, the forum crashing, and the holiday sale, I don't have time to get anything done except try to handle orders and tech support. And even that has been difficult because I can't stay off the phone long enough to get work done.

We're nearly caught up on orders and calibrations which is really good. I have a couple projects I am working on completing over the Christmas break so I expect to have the F250 stuff sorted out by then. I also expect to have the new 6.0L firmware ready for the FICM flashing as well. :)

Take care.

I am also interested in something to help a 2008 F-250 with a 5.4. Any news on this? Can the tranny be left along and the engine only tuned? Seems like stock the tranny has alot of possibilities just need more kick from the engine.
