/wave from McConnell AFB, Ks

Hey guys! Currently stationed in Wichita, KS with the United States Air Force. I'm originally from Victorville, California. I'm a KC-135 Crewchief and I have a 04 XLT screw 5.4 =], 4x2 :(. Have 18x9 motometal 957's with 33 MT's, gotts mod, flowmaster 40series catback. Going for the 'stormtrooper' look. Trying to demolish all of my chrome! I just also bought my AEM intake, but unlike some people i do in fact research and read before i buy and I'm not putting it on until i get my tuner. I'm blacking out my taillights as we speak, first coat is on.

For the staff members;
Just sent in the order for my tuner yesterday! When will i get an email about paying? (I Know it'll probably be a while until i actually get my tuner and custom tune.) Is there like any 'ballpark' figures i should expect to wait for my tuner and tune to arrive, like a month or two? Excellent site though, glad i bought a Ford, and glad forums like these and the other f150 sites exist, they've helped me so much!

Thanks guys!:thumbs up yellow:

Welcome to the forum, Brother! I sse no one bothered to tell you about paying or when to expect anything - sheesh! Can't depend on anything around here. The "old guy" always has to step in and straighten things out. :geezer:

Well anyway, if you haven't already gotten an invoice to pay, Corey will get that to you pretty quickly (after she finds a bit of time from the latest funeral she's attending - I'm not actually making light of this, three family members in the last two months is more than anyone should have to experience).

Once she has your payment, and if she's back in Winder (home), she'll ship you your Gryphon with PHP's canned tunes on board. You'll be able to install any of them in your truck and have fun with the Gryphon until you are told your custom tune(s) are ready. Then, you download them and install them on your Gryphon through a PC application called "Pegasus". She normally ships units within 48 hours of receiving payment. I think custom tunes are running about 1-1 1/2 months now?

Again, glad to have you with us. Some of my fondest memories were looking up the backside of that beast you maintain, while trying to "mate" with the basket you were dangling out in the slipstream.

Thanks for your reply Jack, I do appreciate the response and the welcome.

Yes our 50 year old beast is still up and running strong while 'mating' with the other jets. Haha. We're you prior Navy? (I'm assuming, because we use our drogues and our MPRS for Navy and NATO aircraft)

Longshot270 Tue, March 9th, 2010 10:02 AM

Dang 88, did you put the shipping address on the moon?:yikes2:

Wow I'm glad my stock one matched better than any of the others.:D

88Racing Tue, March 9th, 2010 11:10 AM

Ask saleen about the S+H!
Must take about 4 or 5 workers to wrap package box and label at that price.
:)

No, not Navy. I was flying the A-37B at the time. Probably the ONLY Air Force jet still in the inventory then that still used the "probe".

Some 130's still have the probe. It's located between engines 3&4. Talk about safety.

Jackpine Wed, March 10th, 2010 03:40 PM

The probe is an easy retrofit or mod to an existing airframe. But, it takes a bit more skill on the part of the receiver to make the hookup, because if the bow wave off the probe doesn't push the basket, the turbulence from the basket pushes the receiver. Having the probe coming straight out our nose meant that we got pushed all over the place right before contact.

Having the probe between two engines sounds like a good way to cut a hose off, doesn't it? And, a 130 is not the most maneuverable beast in the air. I suspect it might be REALLY tricky to make that hookup.
