Is it summer YET?

I am getting sick of THIS:

Ugh.

I guess it's better than the last dozen years where we were already on fire by now due to no moisture. It's wet here.....wetter than it has been in over a decade. We had 8 inches of accumulation last week at this time.

March 31st Blizzard

Heck No!

Central SD is still shut down. NE SD is still shut down. Parts of MN+ND that border SD still shut down. One big snow storm from one end of the state to the other. We were spared with just a dusting and rain. I just would like to see spring!

I drove through ND a day before the roads shut down. How lucky was that? I was going to Michigan. My mother in law called and said I was going to have to find a different route home. :yikes2:

Very Lucky!
The one advantage you have is that this snow won't stick around long.
Maybe come back on I-90 or I-80 but I-80 might be to far south.

Since moving to the USA i've missed the rain.

cleatus12r Wed, April 1st, 2009 02:12 PM

Yeah, I had to come back on I-80 through IA, NE, and WY. Then I got back to the MT border and the typical 1.5 hour trip from Sheridan, WY took me 4 hours. White-out conditions and blowing snow....with the typical icepack had me down to 15-20 MPH. The last hill before dropping down into Billings claimed a few OTR trucks....they got stuck trying to climb it so we ended up waiting until they got chained up.

Jackpine Wed, April 1st, 2009 03:29 PM

You guys think you have it rough? Well, let me tell you my sad little tale: Janet's had me out in the yard digging trenches to install more drip irrigation for all the new plants she decided she just had to have. C'mon, swinging a pick and digging with a shovel in 70 degree, sunny weather just beats anything you guys are going through for pure agony! :giggle:

Rub it in, Jack.

I'd just about kill for 70 degree weather.....and that's no lie.

75 here today and I havent had to turn my heat on for 3.5 months. And when I did it was just in the 40's.

88Racing Wed, April 1st, 2009 11:23 PM

Spring is here!

Saw my 4th sign of spring today!
The lawn clipping container was in my driveway when I got home.
I don't know what's worse cold windy snowy days or hot muggy buggy days?

It's already 70 degrees here in my part of Texas ... and it's not even 6am yet! :smiley_roll1: But I do wish that we could get some of the rain that the rest of y'all are getting. We've had an 18-month drought here. :(

Man I went to basic training in Texas all through the summer months back in 98. Wow did it get REALLY hot then. Good thing about it though was that on some days it got so hot they didnt make us do as much as other days.

cleatus12r Wed, April 22nd, 2009 08:44 AM

Darn it. Just in time for the weekend. Two 80 degree days in a row and now MORE SNOW.

I love Montana. It does this every year, but it just seems to get harder to accept the inevitable.

Yes sir, you can experience both wind burn and sun burn all in the same day around here...I dont like the term "breeze" sounds to refreshing, ummmm, "blow dryer" sounds more like the breeze we have in EP.

88Racing Thu, April 23rd, 2009 02:26 PM

85 and sunny right now in Chamberlain SD.
Wish I had a boat the fish are starting to bite really good.
