Continually powers off?

I got my new Gryphon this week and from the moment I installed it, it will shut off randomly. It doesn't reset, it doesn'f freeze, it powers off. I can be sitting in park, driving down the road, anything and it will shut off.
I tried all the things on this forum with, replacing the battery, checking the ODB cable, the wires behind the connector, changing the color to default, changing to different power levels, on and on, nothing works. Sometimes it stays on for 30 min, sometimes 10 min. it is completely random.
I sent an email to PHP but didn't get a response yet. I am kinda bummed that I spent $400 and the product doesn't even work.

Anybody else run into this? :(:(

Try moving the ODB cable at the point where the unused connector and the main part of the cable join. Hold the plastic joint and wiggle each cable and see if you can cause the shutting off to occur. Mine would shut off randomly and that's where my cable seemed to be weak. A new cable cured my issue. If that's what is happening, contact Bill or Corey (pm on here or call them directly as I did) and I'm sure you will be looked after.

I've actually noticed mine doing this too...and I'm already on my second cable, and i only got it a month ago.

I think I read somewhere on this forum that Bill said there were a batch of bad cables. It would be uncommon bad luck to get two of them but I suppose entirely possible. Check at the joint where the three cables converge and see if that's where the problem occurs. I could make mine shut off every time at that point. Hopefully that's where the problem lies and another replacement cable will get you going again.

I think you are right. I remember something about a batch of bad cables...Im sure they'll replace it for ya no problems...

Ya, mine started doing this now. Last time it froze up so i sent it back...now it just powers off randomly.

Bill has a theory of what's wrong, but since we aren't the manufacturer, there's not much we can do except replace the cable for you. Menerso, I'll get one shipped out to you tomorrow.

Weeeee. Thanks! Good looking and great customer service.:cheesy smile:
