HELP! - Fail Safe Mode

i tried to do a search but nothin comes up so im gonna start a new thread... i got my gryphon a few weeks back and have had no problems with it until today. i decided to install my AEM brute force cai and ran level 2 (offsets lean setting). when i took off to take it for a spin, the engine stalled an FAIL SAFE MODE came up on my dash. anyone know what this is?

i read on other forums that early edge's had some issues and updates were made to fix this. does this mean our gryphons would have issues too?

short of putting the stock intake back on until my custom tunes are ready, are there anything i should know about to reset or update this?

:help::help::help:

btw i have an 04 screw 5.4 and got a P2106 code (by itself) when this happened. i just shut the engine off and restarted and no code or FS mode on the dash. could this be a fluke thing? how do i flash or reset the gryphon?

It's kinda of a thing that scares the pants off of you? Isn't it?
Every once in awhile it occours while programming to level 2.
You did the right thing by shutting off and restarting it. It probably won't ever happen again unless the pedal switch goes bad or throttle body switch goes out.

I've had customers say that they've seen it happen on occasion after changing levels. After they shut the key off and restart, it doesn't happen again. That one still baffles me a bit.

well i made a store run after i posted this... after shutting down and restarting twice it came back almost 1 minute into starting the car and putting into drive. should i try running in mode 1 (tranny only) or 3 (perf) and seeing if it changes? or should i try reinstalling my stock intake?

It is definitely related to the intake. You should be able to get by on the trans only tune, but you'd honestly see better performance putting the stocker on for now and running level 2 or 3.

so i switched back to the stock intake and all codes cleared... no P2106 errors:woot: i guess i'll just wait until my custome tunes are ready before i pop the cai back on.

That's about it at this point. Some CAIs are just extremely fickle.
