new exhaust

i just ordered a new cat-back exhaust, do my custom tunes need to be edited at all?

No as long as its from the cats back.

If you did anything like headers or hi flows or x/h pipes it would need to be.

The only thing I will do is define what type of headers.
Shorty header-no tune adj
Long tube header-tune adj
Anything cat back is ok and will not need tune to be adjusted.
But do not exceed these pipe sizes

Si/so 3" max
Si/do 3" in 2.5" out

If you go bigger than these you will start to rob the motor of it's back pressure and you may lose low end torque.

thanks for the responses!

88Racing I had already ordered a Banks Monster Exhaust which has a 3" intermediate pipe and 3.5" tailpipe. It claims to cut backpressure up to 79% and increase flow up to 138%. Is this going to kill my low end torque?

By the way it is a SI/DO

If you guys reading this ever wonder why Banks stuff is so expensive it's because of their r&d on a product.
I went to the site and examined what you had ordered and it's a great product.
They did the exhaust design different than most others. The pipe y's after the muffler. So basically they are using the same muffler for the si/do and the si/so. Other companies use the muffler to split the exhaust.
It should make the truck sound great after breaking it in, in about 2 weeks.
