Whats the differences in the 87 custom towing tune and the stock tunes? More lower end?, better mpg?

The power is improved in the lower RPM ranges, to help you get the increased mass moving. There are adjustments to the line pressure and torque reduction strategies to improve both shifting and transmission life. I know I got better fuel economy too, both with a canned tow tune and even better with the custom tow tune compared to the stock tune.
