Hard is a realitive term. What vehicle do you have so you can have more input as far as help for installation?

Maybe goes something like this:
Drivers side fire wall. Besure to disconnect the batteries. You will have to pull out the inner fender a bit and . Unbolt the harness, then unbolt the ECM, and pull it from the firewall. Open the ECM up and take the black plug off the back, you will see where the chip plugs into (looks like little fingers). You will need to clean them off real good with some scotch brite and nail polish remover until you get all of the coating off. Then put the chip in. Take a 13 mm socket and take the parking brake bracket off and lay in the floor, run your cable through there to the out side of the firewall, hook up the cable and install the ECM. Put the rest back together and then you just have to figure out where you want your selector switch.

Instructions should come with for what your vehicle application is and a little piece of scotch brite too.

Goto YouTube and type in "7.3 chip install" another member has mentioned this in another thread.
If you like visual aids.
