New exhaust, New Tune?
Hello Everyone,
Please let me know if I have this correct. As long as I don't change anything from the cats forward I don't need a custom tune when changing exhaust. I have been waiting to order my custom tunes, because I am planning on replacing the stock cat back with a SI/DO setup (probably a Magnaflow cat back system), but If I don't need a new tune when switching from stock to SI/DO cat back then I'm ready to order :cheesy smile:. Also Lars if you see this. What's up with the spark plug pictures? Thanks, Gary |
The spark plug pix?
The bottom one can be found in any 2004-2007 F150 with a 5.4L. The top one is for a 2008+ F150 5.4L with the newly revised head. To answer your exhaust question. Don't cut the "y" and you'll be ok. The "y" comes down from the heads and has the cats and O2 sensors and then merges. Go alittle bit farther back and then its the catback connection point. There is some stuff you can do to the "y" without getting retuned but since you are only looking at catbacks I'll stop. Peace!:) |
Thank you sir,
As always you've been a big help. Now off to the order forms!!!:D Gary |
