Yeah, the only thing that updates automatically is the "who's online"

Incorrect. I use to run a vBulletin forum myself, I had to have an addon for it, but this was many years ago and I forgot what needed to be added. All they need to do is find it and upload it to the server. Although their banwidth would go up some.
