Thinking about 6 pos chip

I have a 96 f-250 7.3. The truck has only intake and exhaust on it . I am mainly after towing perf. I tow about 8000 lbs. What tunes do you recomend?
How critical are gauges? Finally I am a little worried about destroying a auto tranny. Is anything done to boost line pressure? Thanks

For the weight, probably a 40-65 HP towing tune. You won't see any EGT problems with an older truck and a 3" downpipe in the 60-80 HP range, but you're not going to want to tow with the additional power if you're worried about the transmission.

Stock parts can fail with stock power and adding additional power is always a gamble.
As far as raising line pressure, it's only really during shifts as "boosting" it more than 10 or so PSI at all times usually takes it's toll on seals.
