How to: Install the Phoenix Chip (Video)
|
Nice video. I am sure it will help out quite a few folks. :)
BTW, in the video you used Scotch-Brite pad but called it Emery Cloth. You probably don't want anyone using actual Emery Cloth to clean the PCM board... Just an FYI... Did you actually clean both sides of the PCM while it was still in the case? If so, you did an awesome job! I had to remove the PCM board from the case so I could access both sides of the contacts. Did you use a brass bristle brush to clean off the silicone and then finish up with the Scotch-Brite pad or just clean with pad only? So..... Inquiring minds want to know. How do you like the PHP calibrations compared to what you were using previously? |

I had a DP 80hp tune installed on my pcm. I didn't like the sensitive throttle. I found myself trying to control the pedal with my toes which got sore .:thumbsdwn: I'm not sure why they do that with their tunes but was pretty annoying to me. I wasted my money on the pcm flash with the 80tow tune. Try 4X4 driving in the mountains with that...lol |

As for my PHP vs Other tunes, the PHP tunes are much more driveable. The throttle is much better, and acceleration feels more... solid. If that makes sense. It feels much stronger when accelerating. Before it accelerated like a car. Now it accelerates like a truck. In a good way. It feels like it has some weight behind it. So far I have to give the trophy for shifting to the other tuner though. Maybe it will just take time to get used to. Quote:

I'm not flaming them just giving my review of their product. It would of been nice to see more reviews before spending money on them. Dp tuner is a sponsor on most of the diesel forums and a lot of opinions about their product get :censored1:. Most people come to diesel forums to make a chip decision and don't get the full story about some products. :hmmm: |
So true what's the next video? Ha
