Evo to Gryphon differences
 

Would the canned tunes in my new Evo be the same as the canned tunes if I up graded to a Gryphon?

Yes, it is the exact same canned tunes.
The difference is that the gryphon can have custom tunes downloaded from Pegasus when they are ready for you.

So unless you are planning on getting custom tunes there is no advantage to upgrading.

None initially.
But you'd get to know better advantages of having php's tech support. What wonderful people they are and how they go out of their way to help you(person to person). If you go with the upgrade and get an itch for a custom tune you will already be halfway there.
