Hearing the injectors themselves isn't really possible unless you're cranking with no fuel or no high pressure oil pressure and the injection control pressure sensor unplugged....even then, it's just a "click".

To the original poster, I will agree with you. I was inclined to purchase Jody's tunes about 4 years back. Even though the truck ran like a scalded ape, it was noticeably louder at an idle with his programming. It didn't bother me, but then again it seems as though other peoples' trucks were a lot louder....at least the people made it seem like the tuning made the idle a lot louder. Mine wasn't bad at all....just a slight bit more combustion noise at an idle.

I have had the capability to look at his programming (from 4 years ago) when I started this interest in tuning. I have looked at about half a dozen different tuners' programming techniques and actually started out A LOT different than what I am doing now because of what tools I was using at the time.

For what it's worth, there are a lot of folks who love Jody's tuning. There are also a lot of people who have their tuner of choice and won't go anywhere else. Some folks have a bandwagon, some have blind faith, and some don't know any better. There's no blame in saying that someone would LOVE XXXXX's tuning and wouldn't have any other tuning if that's the only tuning they've ever had. I liked Jody's tuning a lot, but only because it was infinitely more user-friendly than the Superchips programmer, Western Diesel Performance chip, Bank's chip, and all of the "free" modifications that I had tried up until that point. Some folks just claim what they have is the best....even if it's the only one they've had. On a similar note, a lot of people rave about Jody's shift points........on my old PMT1 programming, his shift points are no different than stock.

I was thoroughly pleased with my DP-T experience. However, now that I can make my own programming that I feel is superior (because it does what I want and runs like I want), I no longer have a need for it. You had an issue with a sensitive accelerator pedal......try an Edge Evo. It's so sensitive that the bucking a jerking while going downhill is unbearable. None of my tunes from DP-T ever did that. In fact, I sold my DP-Tuner to a guy who had an issue with an overly-sensitive pedal. I know how to fix it in programming, but it's something 99% of the people who buy an older Evo will put up with because yes, the truck runs a lot better. I have run other "custom" tuning that did the same thing.....and people LOVE it because of how the truck runs the other 90% of the time.

Anyway, this was a total derailment. Carry on.
