The biggest thing to be careful with is:
1) STATIC! Static makes things go *poofski*.
2) Abrasion against the chassis/dash components that may cause the leads to short out and damage both the chip and the PCM. Make sure throughly wrap the individual splices as well as sheathing the additional segment to prevent chafing.
Other than that, it should be straightforward.
