Default advice? E99 F350

I have an early 99 automatic with nearly 200k miles. Before putting the hydra in, it was just as fast as the 80hp tunes but shifted harsher and blew smoke on take off, and the PCM had a hole cut in it for the connector, so I assume it had a tune.
Failed to remove the PCM, tried to start without it tightened all the way, tightened it, it started and ran but seemed SLOW. Then, after installing the hydra and selecting a higher hp tune, it was back closer to how it was earlier.

I ran the extreme tuner, put the trans in neutral and accidentally over-revved it to maybe 4500? At least the engine was warm. How worried should I be? edit: seems it should be ok, they can take about 4500rpms

Ran a contribution test with forscan, #8 failed when supposedly it passed a few months before. Could just be the "dead head" air in fuel thing? https://forum.gopowerhungry.com/foru...91&postcount=5 Maybe I don't need a fuel crossover or fuel bowl delete aftermarket thing, just don't want air going into injectors and maybe that could cause uneven wear on the cylinders? There was a hutch mod or something. edit: yeah ill just do the hutch mod in guzzle's page. The price of kits for things like this on certain diesel sites is ridiculous.

Should probably make sure there's no leaks, the transmission and engine are good, and rocks won't break the radiator/intercooler before thinking about an aftermarket turbo

Maybe exhaust brakes aren't worth it. Brake pads aren't that expensive. https://forum.gopowerhungry.com/foru...ead.php?t=9894 So maybe if my EBPV leaks I can delete it, but uhh yeah boo hoo searching and reading is hard. I'll get to it

Replaced steering box with a fancy red one. I should've just increased caster, though I don't know how wedge type axle shims would affect the front pinion angle. It seems like the ball joint shims were maxed out on caster.

Might have dropped an o ring down a hole on the box. The steering seems slightly stickier going one side than the other. Doesn't seem to be leaking. What I'm worried about is the possibility of power steering lines popping off. I've read rumors of the fittings not being good. Should I just buy new OEM ones or are there better aftermarket ones?

Eventually I'll replace the CPS and see if that #8 injector code goes away. Got a f4tz-12k073-c black with purple O ring.

Does it make sense to run the 25hp tow tune when unloaded to help the 4R100 last longer? Seems like the stock tune locks more often than any of the other tunes, but it's super slow and much quieter.
