Phoenix Switch-On-The-Fly Chip (DISCOUNTINUED) (Disabled)
Power Hungry no longer sells the Phoenix/TS chip, but if you need custom tuning we can recommend a few really good tuners that will be able to still provide tuning and support for your chip.

If you have any other questions or comments about the Phoenix/TS chip, please post it here.

Default Chip installed and have a few questions????

I have a 2001 7.3 and just installed my chip. I had to try out the 140hp first. Its pooring down rain so i could not play to much. seems to run great. Then the check engine light popped on. Its code p0238 for turbo boost sensor A circuit high input. I do have the waste gate line unhooked and plugged. should I? or should i hook it back up? or is this common. cant wait for the rain to stop so i can really check it out.

Thanks,

I don't have any codes running the 140hp on mine. I would leave the wastegate connected. If u get codes still they can be disabled in the tune itself. What other tunes r u running and do u have any issues with lower power tunes.

Oh my previous reply was from my blackberry... didn't see the Signature with your other tunes.. do you have gauges? If Bill fixed the issue with you then post up here and let us know the solution/problem...

I did talk to Bill and can i say "What customer support". I put the post up here and really did not expect a call from Bill. It really surprised me, Thanks. anyway I am going to check and try a few things on my end then let Bill know what I come up with and go from there. He says that the code P0238 is rare but not unheard of. Ill post if I figure anything out.

Thanks all,

Hey Bill, I hooked the waste gate line back up after I talked to you and its been all week on all 3 settings and the code has not come back yet. Not sure why that would be but its fixed. My only other concern (not a big deal) is in the fuel sipper mode on light throttle at 35MPH the trans shift back and forth constantly from 2-3, 3-2 untill you get on or off the throttle. it only happen at that speed. around 1200-1300 rpms. Its not work sending you the chip back but maybe something for you to look at for the future. Maybe i can get it fixed when i get the FU programmer in the future.

thanks,
Chris

In all, the fix is to raise the lowered shift points back to near stock.

My thread got cross referenced
yep it will fix the issue, I think it may even be connected to the age, wear and mileage too as to why this tune works fine on some trucks and not on others... At some point I'll get around to tweaking the original values to just correct the low/light throttle issues.
When you get the FU chip we can send you modified files to try if you are interested... (guess we would need the matching MDF for his truck? Right Cody?)

I'll bet lunch on him having the same one, DJ. 2001 49-stater will be DPC-422 and I think Bill pretty much uses PMT1 exclusively for those. If not, I have a few tricks up my sleeve. You'd cry for me if you knew how many definition files I have paid for and don't use.

It doesn't matter though....he doesn't have a burner. Yet.

Yeah? how many are there total and how many do you really need?... One MDF will cover a specific PCM right? I did notice when I tried looking at the VRAA7Y6 and got some weird values using the PMT1 VRAA6Y3 MDF... Bill said he would send me the other MDF for that if I was interested just to see how not to program a transmission Heh... all Excursions had a GPCM not a GPR and PATS. those are the only differences i know of....
