Phoenix Switch-On-The-Fly Chip (DISCOUNTINUED) (Disabled)
Power Hungry no longer sells the Phoenix/TS chip, but if you need custom tuning we can recommend a few really good tuners that will be able to still provide tuning and support for your chip.

If you have any other questions or comments about the Phoenix/TS chip, please post it here.

Question Driving in Whisper Mode

So it looks like the Wife just drove my truck 120 miles with the chip set in whisper mode. Any harm in this. She said it drove fine.
Thanks
Matt

Nope, no harm. The fueling and timing maps as well as all transmission functions are normal at all RPMs above an idle...or 1000 RPM at most.

The biggest thing you'll notice is probably some slight loss of performance and fuel economy. Whisper mode does pull a bit of timing out, but doubt it would really hurt anything at all.

Does your Whisper Mode affect more than just idle, Bill?

If so, to the original poster, go by what Bill just said.

Yes, timing is reduced 6-8 degrees, depending on the vehicle. Not exactly the best word in performance but otherwise not generally harmful.

It looks like I lost a couple of miles per gallon or so on that tank but other than that everything else seems fine. I guess I was alittle worried that the engine would somehow get loaded up with the reduced timing. Oh well towing the TT next weekend so that should clean it out.

I still can't believe how much better this truck tows with one of Bills chips.

Thanks
Matt

I remembered seeing this post so I tried it. Mine spit and sputtered and poured white smoke like no tomorrow when I drove in whisper mode.
