Phoenix Switch-On-The-Fly Chip (DISCOUNTINUED) (Disabled)
Power Hungry no longer sells the Phoenix/TS chip, but if you need custom tuning we can recommend a few really good tuners that will be able to still provide tuning and support for your chip.

If you have any other questions or comments about the Phoenix/TS chip, please post it here.

Default New Member looking to buy Tuner

Bill:

I am in the process of buying a tuner for my 2000 Ford SD 250 w/ the 7.3L Powerstroke. According to your website, this is your week of no phone service, so I am writing this Email as I am needing to get one ordered this week.

I have kept updated on DP Tuner and know what he can do as far as adjusting his tunes for my mods and needs. I have read some reviews that are really liking your tunes and recently there seems to be a lot of flak about too much timing advancements.

I have the following mods done:

* Set of Gauges
* Shimmed fuel regulator @ 70#'s
* Ford AIS heavy duty air
* Removed Intake Heater element
* John Wood valve body
* Stock exhaust, but muffler has been replaced by straight pipe, and I might put Walker BTM back in

I am wanting two tunes and am curious if you do any modifications to your tunes to match my mods/needs, or the tunes are as they are. I would be looking at your Phoenix Chip, and then will look for you to tell me which tunes would work best for me, and if there can be any modifications.

Economy Tune
I am looking for the best economy I can get, and I'm not a HP freak. The driving that really kills my mileage is in town and on the gravel roads while I'm hunting. Typically speeds are around 35-40 mph, and most of the times, my torque convertor has not locked up. All that power, and I'm not able to utilize it with the stock setup running higher RPMs because the TC has not locked up. I understand that the competitor would be able to set my TC to lock up much earlier, which would improve the mpg with the condition noted.

Tow Mode
I have a 11K pound 5th wheel trailer that I pull, and occasionally I hooked up the same weight pulling a cattle trailer. I want a good tune that has optimized the shifting strategies both up and down. I really like the way the new Fords shift in their tow mode. My brother doesn't hardly even have to use his brakes slowing down to a stop, using the correct distances of course.

So which of your tunes would you suggest, and in case of the Economy Tune, is there an option to change where the TC locks up??? Is there a point that a truck may have too many miles to chip it. Mine has 160K, has very little blowby, the transmission does not slip?????

Upon order, how long does it take to get the chip and tunes on their way. I am looking to order something by end of week, as I head out on a long trip pulling my trailer the 1st of March.

Thanks!
