Upgrade your Evo (Disabled)
Upgrade your Edge Evolution to a Gryphon Programmer to allow for custom tuning and additional functionality.

Due to issues with the cable failures due to incompatible versions of firmware, we do not offer upgrades or tuning for the 1997-2003 F-Series gas or 7.3L diesel trucks. We recommend using another platform.

Default Using Internet to upgrade Evo

Hey guys,

I am new to the forum and to PHP. I keep hearing the name so I figured I would give it a shot. I recently got an Edge Evo for my truck, and yes, if I had known about PHP before I would have just gotten a Gryphon. Anyway, I had a couple questions. First, is the 87 custom towing tune better than the canned towing tune? Second, how does the 87 custom performance tune match up to the 93 canned performance tune? Just wondering because I was a little disappointed in the canned performance tune. I was thinking about ordering the two 87 tunes mentioned above and was just wondering if anyone had some real world experience with them. I dont want to send my Edge in, I would rather just do it over the internet with the software, which by the way can anyone tell me how that worked for them?

Thanks in advanced for the info.

The custom tow tune is better for towing than the canned tune. In my case it had a noticeably more grunt (also gets better mileage). The 87 custom tune will probably be equal to or just slightly better than the 93 canned performance...all the while staying on lower quality gas.

As for upgrading, you should be good.

Great, thanks for the info. Sounds like this is what I want to do then. Any updates up the "Upgrade" page that is suppose to be put on the website? I am assuming this would be the best way to get the custom tunes, that is why I ask.

I don't know when Corey will get around to updating the website but I think the order form might have been.

I'll leave her a note so she can clear up any other questions on this thread.
