Default can't download custom tunes...HELP!!!

I am not a gambling man, but if someone would have offered me a bet that my custom tunes would download smoothly, I would have bet him a grand! First off, the e-mail that they send that informs you that your ct's are ready, the attachment w/ the hippie on it: is this the tunes? I moved it to my desktop: I click it, the mini control panel open, I click play and it does nothing. ????? I already had Pegasus downloaded ( whether its done right: dont't have a clue), so I open up Pegasus, plug my gryphon and nothing. Isn't my computer supposed to recognize it? It shows connected and the ser # is right. I click update and target something-or-other and it says host something blah, blah not found. I new this was going to happen

Also, I took it to work and tried it and seemed to get a little closer. I remember going through the part about installing the 2 drivers, but this didnt happen on my home computer. Still when I tried to update/ target, it stated Unable to locate a Target Instruction file. It said something about server maint or updating files

The best version of windows to run pegasus on is XP.

If you are using windows vista disable the UAC.

If you are using vista, 64 php is trying to resolve issues with it. Try finding a computer with the other 2 choices.

I figured it out. As Rays dad on "Everybody Loves Raymond" would say, [B]HOLY CRAP[B]!!! All I had to do was turn my TrendMicro security off. Its always the tiny things that'll foul us up sometimes. After that, all went smooooth. Cant wait to try it out, but its raining here and I live on a small curvy road. So I will wait til I get up in about 7 hrs. Thanks for the help anyway.

So, If anyone reads this.... if everything seems right and you still can't download yer tunes, try turning off the security

Yes, a firewall WILL interfere with Pegasus's ability to connect with PHP's server. It's too bad that TrendMicro doesn't have a popup that asks you if it's OK to connect. This feature seems to be lacking in many firewalls. It's an example of poorly written software in my humble opinion.

By the way, there's a free firewall that's always been very highly rated called ZoneAlarm. It DOES give you the option to allow a connection or not (without turning it off).

Glad you found the problem!

Another one I have to add to my collection of trouble shooting "fixes"

I just did the same thing too, Lars. We'll get good at this yet, won't we?
