04-08 Transmission Failure Survey
The following survey is to help track transmission failures on low to moderate mileage F150's.
Its multiple choice so first pick a year, then mileage, and then what failed. Also please post: Year. Mileage. Symptoms. Corrective Repairs. Please don't post a new or ongoing problem here. Thank you.

2007 5.4 Lariat Screw 4x4
37,500 miles Was traveling up a moderate size hill in N. Texas in cruise control set at 72 mph and when the tranny downshifted to adjust speed, the rpms went up to 5K and so depressed brake to lose cruise. It limped home another 75 miles (almost all the way), but it was slipping bad then lost all gears but third, even reverse. Dealer said it was a total loss, so they put in a new tranny in under warranty and added an exterior in-line filter coming out of cooler mounted up front. |

Add mine to the list of failures.
2007 99K miles, started slipping in 1st gear. 390 miles later (truck got me home home!!!) all forward and reverse gears were gone. Never asked what specifically failed.
