My truck seems to have developed a similar issue as well. When it sits idle for a few seconds, it drops and "shakes" ever so slightly and then idles back up. This just started a week or 2 ago.

Rob, Clean your MassAirFlow Sensor first. I konw you're dumping a oil/gauze filter and that could be the problem. The oil will dirty up the MAF and cause rough idle issues. If that doesn't fix it dig deeper.

Take off your throttle body ( four bolts) and clean it out you'd be suprised how dirty it gets, clean it with some carb cleaner and some rags, and also while your at it take some brake cleaner(electrical cleaner) to your maf sensor ,thats it let it all dry , reset your pcm with a tune, and you should be good

Watch what fluids you suggest to clean the TB with some of them may not be O2 senser safe...

The biggest concern is not so much what you use, but that you either remove the throttle body before you clean it or use a rag sprayed with cleaning solvent to clean the throttle body. What you DO NOT want to do is spray solvent down the intake. Most of the manifolds are plastic nowadays and the solvent will not be very friendly.
