Phoenix Switch-On-The-Fly Chip (DISCOUNTINUED) (Disabled)
Power Hungry no longer sells the Phoenix/TS chip, but if you need custom tuning we can recommend a few really good tuners that will be able to still provide tuning and support for your chip.

If you have any other questions or comments about the Phoenix/TS chip, please post it here.

Default Chip Problems

Hi Everyone,

I just installed my Phoenix chip. I have noticed some intermittent problems. In the moring the truck doesn't seem to want to start on one of the tune settings. I switch it to stock and it starts and then switch it back to a tune and all is well. I drive it during the day and shut it off and once in awhile it won't start on the tune. On at least one occasion it wouldn't start at all until I pulled the chip and re-seated it. I have the chip plugged in solid with duct tape across the end of the chip and down each side.

My first thought was that the pins on the PCM were not clean enough. I have pulled it again and checked the pins and they are clean. I don't want to work with them any more for fear of taking them down too far. I have worked with edge connectors for years as I am an IT person (for a living).

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Jerry
