Question muffler swap vs new catback

is there really a big difference in performance changing from stock muffler to a new magnaflow muffler vs changing too the magnaflow catback.on my old f150 2000 sc 4x4 w the 5.4 i changed everything at least twice, never bought gryphon though, and now i dont feel like wasting money on things that i dont need..example tb spacer, new tb ,three diff chips,4 different mufflers,2 sets of headers ,roller cams, underdrive pulleys, and dont forget two different cais.now im a little older and less money too blow ,so dont wont too waste money .plan on buying gryphon this week ,but would also like too know your thoughts about whether too buy new catback system or change mufflers.already done the gotts mod w/flex pipe.I now tow my 20 foot boat and 31 foot camper ,instead of tearing my truck up mud bogging.thanks for any input
