Congratulations! Yes, I know what an AFSC is, having had several for 20 years.
Your starting AFSC is a "Pilot in Training", probably different wording, but means the same thing. Do you know yet where you will be going to Primary Training? I was at Laughlin AFB, in Texas. You won't have a "dedicated" Crew Chief in the Air Force, because you don't get a plane of your own. You fly which ever one Maintenance and Ops assigns you to fly. So, you better be nice to everyone! Regardless, you treat the Maintainers like fellow human beings! They're out there keeping that pile of iron in flying condition in all sorts of weather and they get none of the "glory" that pilots get. Never, ever, give them a hard time! If there's a problem with the bird, just let them know and let them take care of it. You'll either fly that plane when they fix it, or you'll get another, or you won't fly. And, if you takeoff late because you were "goofing off" somehow, you give Ops a black eye. Now, go have fun! - Jack
