2006 F150 5.4L
Lifted on 35's, 3.73 gear. Transmission let go at 60k Started slipping into 4th gear, then 2nd to 3rd, then 1st to 2nd until it finally barely moved. Few weeks before I heard a squeaking noise in the morning on cold start, then would go away after it warmed up. Turns out the Torque Converter came apart and took out the tranny. So $1800 later I have a rebuilt tranny with shift kit and an upgraded converter. They say the fins are only spot welded on the stock converter so this new one is braised on all the fins. Hopefully it holds together longer this time. |
