Truck Died
Headed to work this morning, made it about a mile and my truck died going through an s-curve. Coasted through the curves and pulled over. Tried to turn the truck over and it spun fast and strong, no fire. I noticed that the tachometer was not moving. Pulled my spare out of the glove box (recently removed black CPS that was working when removed) and I swapped it out. Still no movement from the PCM. I tried turning my gauge on but the switch was already on (LIGHT BULB!!). My gauge is grounded by the PCM...or suppose to be. Pulled fuse cover off and #30 fuse was good. Popped the hood and #24fuse?? (20amp) was blown. I ddin't have any of the big fuses so I replaced it with my radio fuse. Got power to my gauge now and tachometer registers during cranking but it still will not start. I check cranking duty cycle (40-38%) and ICP (+3k psi). I tried pulling ICP, running out of ideas at the time, and tried starting with no luck. I thought when I swapped the fuse I would more than likely blow it again. Got a tow home from my neighbor. I tried focussing on brake lights and not brain storming what the cause could be. I can hear the fuel pump humming. I'm thinking IDM fuse....a relay?? Any suggestions where to start? I am also going to check fuel bowl heater as well. Do I just check for continuity between the element and bowl?
