But sadly, 88 and I don't have a clue. This might be a good thing for you though, if your sensor is indeed faulty. I suspect Ford installs them for a reason and if so, they should be operational. - Jack

The PCM does look for transmission fluid temperature to assist in torque converter clutch apply rates, shift scheduling, etc.
I have run into certain trucks that do not support TFT in the data stream (on a scanner) so that may be an issue with your Gryphon.
