Robby - I think your owner's manual tells you how to reset that thing if it's showing an "intrusion" (which is what I think it's doing). Give that a try.

I read the back of the book and it says to turn the key to "on" and wait for the THEFT light to stop flashing and then remove the key for 30 seconds and then attempt to start it as normal.

If that is different than what you're referring to then please guide me to a different part of the manual.

Thanks for your help.

I wasn't trying to say, "RTFM", I was just remembering there was something in the manual about it. I can't find the procedure you're referring to in my manual, but it DOES say to use a "coded key" to "disarm" the system. If you still have a coded key, I'd try that.

But, since I've never considered defeating the PATS, I don't know what kind of interactions doing so has created.

My manual DOES say if the system malfunctions, to take the truck to the dealer.

The PATS was disabled thru a tune. It was weird...last night the THEFT light was normal and then today after charging the battery it went to rapid flashing. Any clues?

Just a shot in the dark but since you removed a power source maybe when you hooked the battery back up it reset.

Have you tried to program back to stock and then reprogram back to your custom tune?

I did an engine swap going from a 4.6 to a 5.4 and Bill wrote a stock for the truck to think it was a 5.4 then he wrote the custom tunes for the 5.4. So the stock tune is also written by Bill.

Stock/custom tune for 4.6 to think it's a 5.4 - Did this have the PATS disable setup?

Custom/Custom tune for 5.4 - Had the PATS disabled (correct)?

.........OR did they "BOTH" have PATS disabled?

and just because I need to know, why would you ask for the PATS to be disabled? It's one of the best security features out there?

Bill disabled the PATS in all modes...Stock and Custom.

The BOZO mechanic that put the engine in did some shady work and now my truck won't start so I had the PATS disabled in the event that he screwed it up. Once I find out what why it's not starting and it fires up and it's not a PATS issue then I'll have Bill enable it again.
