The increase in engine noise comes from a few different sources.
First, there's a modest increase in timing to help improve fuel economy and performance. This isn't too aggressive, but it will definitely make a noticeable change in engine sound. Second, there's the change in ICP. This makes for a slightly hotter combustion and also slightly advances timing as well. This accounts for the increase in engine sound as well. Take care.
