Phoenix Switch-On-The-Fly Chip (DISCOUNTINUED) (Disabled) Power Hungry no longer sells the Phoenix/TS chip, but if you need custom tuning we can recommend a few really good tuners that will be able to still provide tuning and support for your chip. If you have any other questions or comments about the Phoenix/TS chip, please post it here. |

Pulled our 5th wheel up a 25% grade last year and developed an oil leak like you describe. Turned out to be the bearing housing of the turbo. Check it carefully. I kept thinking it was the pedestal leaking and removed and installed the turbo 3 times before I figured it out (with some help from a friend). It eventually started blowing oil in the intake and caused extremely hard starting.

I know it has been a while, but I thought I would give an update as to the truck. Turns out the oil leak was the fitting off the HPOP for the drivers supply line.
I did get to put my computer on the truck and it did not store any codes for the emission light. I will have a big pull again over labor day and will take my computer with to check codes if the light comes on again. Still trying to figure out what is going on with the truck. The truck doesn't seem to have the same get up and go as it did before. I also don't recall it having that much black smoke when you get on it. When I put the chip back in stock mode, the truck runs like it did prior to the chip. A work in progress I guess. |

From the way your describing its an air issue. Check all your boots for leaks and you could have "hurt" the turbo a little.

I looked at the boots, and all are tight. As far as I can see, they are in good shape yet. Don't know how else to check them. Also, how would I check my turbo to make sure it is still fine? All of my turbo sounds are there, and seem fine.
