Phoenix Switch-On-The-Fly Chip (DISCOUNTINUED) (Disabled) Power Hungry no longer sells the Phoenix/TS chip, but if you need custom tuning we can recommend a few really good tuners that will be able to still provide tuning and support for your chip. If you have any other questions or comments about the Phoenix/TS chip, please post it here. |

Hey gang what tune is the truck running in when the chip is turned to the no-start pos while the truck is running? I believe it is the stock tune, am I wrong?

Pretty sure it is stock. It still runs after flipping to the setting? I'm thinking it should die almost immediately, but I actually haven't programmed a no-start in any vehicles before.

No bud, the setting is so when you shut it off & leave it someone could not start it even if they had the keys. Yes when you put it that position on the chip it keeps running until you shut the truck down, my ? is which tune it is running on.

You are right, CJ, it will continue to run in a STOCK setting if you turn it to no-start while the truck is running. This is to be sure that if you are changing positions while driving down a busy street, through an intersection, or even down the highway, that the truck will not die and potentially cause an accident if you happen to inadvertently turn to that position. Being that it is a stock setting, we don't charge for it. It will not start in that position though. It will crank all day long. Typical (and our older) no-start tunes WILL kill the engine though if you happen to pass by that position while driving. In all honesty, we could make ANY tune a no-start tune very easily.

Ah, sorry. Here's an explaination right here though.
I am sure that the no-start file I have looked at will kill the engine if it is running. Just goes to show that there are still things being done at PHP to make tunes better and safer.
