HELP!

Gryphon will not update.

I have updated Pegasus. Plugged in the Gryphon. Selected [Updates]->[Gryphon Update Manager] -> [Update All]

It downloads everything, gets through a bunch of programming screens, but when it gets to the "Updating Files" progress-bar-window, it errors out "Connection Failed - Communications Timed Out on Com 12. Please check port settings and retry."

It then gives me this screen on Pegasus:

Unable to update version file.
Update Cancelled.

Update failed.

Ive connected it to 3 USB ports on my computer, restarted twice. Still same error. It always stops at exactly 50% on the Updating Files screen...

Any suggestions?

Has anyone had this problem before? I tried it again before I left for work and got the same error...

What's the version of Pegasus you are running? It's on the top of the screen (what we cal the "Title Bar").

Okay, give me a few minutes to take a look at that. Not sure what's going on. To verify, it is occurring during the "Updating Files" (or more specifically, "Finalizing Updates") progress bar, correct? Also, was this during a "Standard" update or a "Custom File Download" update?

Correct: error occured during "Updating Files" (or more specifically, "Finalizing Updates") progress bar.

This was this during a "Standard" update. I had my PCM/HEX changed, so I need to grab the new HEX from my truck (i.e. have to reset my gryphon to canned tunes).

Okay, I think I've identified the issue. Your programmer is an older "Type 2" board and there seems to be an issue with how Pegasus is clearing the settings. I'll get that fixed here in a moment and get everything on the server to download. Hang tight and we'll get you straightened out.

Bill -

He SHOULD have been trying to restore the "canned files", due to a PCM flash. It looks like he clicked on the right choices from his post. It does not look like he used "Custom File Update" at all, and he shouldn't have of course.

Correct. I just wanted to make sure I was looking a the right processes so I could track the problem. I've got it identified now.

This is the best community. Thanks for all of your help everyone. I can't wait to get home from work now and light up the tires.

There are definitely 3 things I love in life, my wife, my dog and my truck, in that order.

I know I have an old-school tuner, and an older truck for that matter (2004 was actually a while ago...!) , would it be worth investing in a new CTS or the sort? Will I see any additional performance enhancements? Or is it more of an "oh! new and shiney!" aspect...

I'm asking the experts here!
