Tune Changes
Quick question. I'll be moving to Vegas next week and it is my understanding that they run 85 octane out there. Will this effect my 87 performance tune any....will I see any changes?

Probably not, but it might ping a little bit, so if it does you should adjust your timing a little bit.

Is it E85?
If it's E85 I wouldn't touch the crap unless you have a "Flexfuel" vehicle that was made for it. I hate ethanol.

no, it is just 85 octane, usually 85, 87, and 91 are available, and sometimes 89 depending on the station. That is at least how it is in most states around there.
but yes you should just have to adjust the timing by 2 points or so to make it work right, but don't do it all at once, just a half point at a time until the pinging stops. |
