Phoenix Switch-On-The-Fly Chip (DISCOUNTINUED) (Disabled) Power Hungry no longer sells the Phoenix/TS chip, but if you need custom tuning we can recommend a few really good tuners that will be able to still provide tuning and support for your chip. If you have any other questions or comments about the Phoenix/TS chip, please post it here. |

Ducktaping the chip in??
Hey all, new to the forum!!
Installed the pheonix chip last night in our 97 7.3 diesel. Wow does it seem to make a difference in the 80dd. I am curious if I put too much duct tape on the chip to keep it held in. I just read you don't want to put it really tight either, just enough to hold it in, and I may have put it on pretty snug. I put probably 4 or 5 pieces of duct tape, covering the entire hole, and cut little slots out for the cord to go through, one on each side. They don't have to have an opening do they for air, or to cool and disappate heat?? I imagine not since the black little plastic cover was in there. I am asking because I sealed it up really well... Let me know what you think or if anybody else had done this and had problems... Thanks |

If the chip is working in all the settings I'd leave it alone, I put tape on mine & it is working fine so I just go by the old motto
"If it ain't broke don't f with it"
