I have a 2000 7.3 Excursion with 268k miles on it, running a Hydra chip and an Edge CTS 3 to monitor things. I have notice that when I am running tunes (PHP 80 hp Daily driven, or PHP 80 hp Moderate to light tow when pulling a 23‘ Airstream), if my ICP gets much over 3000 the truck throws a P1211 code. It seems to run ok in spite of this.
If I don’t activate the chip, I get no code, but I get typically 2-4 mpg less on my mileage. I have replaced the ICP and IPR sensors with new OEM parts, with the same result. My question is, can I continue to run with the P1211 code popping up from time to time when I am on the chip and just ignore the code, and this is just a byproduct of running the chip, or am I doing damage to the engine? I should also mention I am running stock injectors. Thanks in advance. |

As a rule, we don't like to see any codes or CEL events. If you're seeing a CEL and/or P1211 when the ICP crests 3000 PSI, there might be something in the tuning that is not responding correctly. In general, our tuning will allow for up to 3250-3300 PSI without setting a DTC.
If you could, please let me know what calibration code you are running and I'll be happy to take a look at it and see if there is something we can do about the DTC? Thanks!
