Default SD tune boost fooler?

2003 7.3 zf6...hey i have a hydra that i bought from a 3rd party seller. its been 7 years but i bought it off of his facebook page and his listing showed a PHP sticker in the ad so im assuming it came with PHP tunes. (GaugePro, tried messaging him with no luck) does this truck w/ PHP tunes need a boost fooler? i use to sometimes get a code that i think is the common one for these trucks on higher tunes. anyways i did email someone years ago talking about it and they sent me a new tune and now the CEL still comes on but when i go to scan it theres nothing on the code reader. i searched all my emails with no luck finding out more.

not sure if it was from overboost but im buying a new turbo and thought id get one and install it when i do that.

If you're running a stock turbo, usually a boost fooler is not necessary as we expand the functional range that the ECM allows for boost.

That said, a boost fooler will help limit the amount of boost sent to the MAP sensor and prevent it from being damaged. Once the diaphragm is blown, the MAP sensor won't read correctly and may actually cause a low power issue due to the computer not seeing any boost which affects the low-boost fueling control.

Gauge Pro (Joe Orem) got out of the game a few years back, which is probably why you can't reach him.

If you have any other questions or need to update files, please reach out or contact our office at (678) 890-1110 and we can help you out.

Take care.
