Mister B,

I received my Gryphon with three canned tunes in mid-Feb and have driven it every workday since. So probably around 4K miles since then, 50/50 highway/city driving. Mostly in canned tune #2 with a few little tweaks.

I've got nothing but good to say about the Gryphon with canned tunes. I can feel the added horsepower. Nothing massive -- but it's there. Feels stronger in the 1500 to 2500 RPM range. Shifting is much more positive and the stock transmission "hunting" you describe in your first post was much improved

But all that changed......

Yesterday, I received the one custom tune I ordered: 87 Performance.

I've only got about 100 miles on that custom tune so far, so first impression only:

Bill is a genius!

Everything I said about the canned tune above goes double for his custom 87 performance tune. Shifting, power all get better, but it's all sewn together in a such a smooth package.

If I were to use one word: "drivability".

Sounds awesome.

At some point down the road, I think I will definitely have to look into the Gryphon programmer if it's as good as you and everyone else say it is.

Enjoy your new tune, and thanks for the input.

I took my truck to the dealer yesterday and had the tranny flushed and the truck checked for any codes. No codes except for an impact sensor, which I already knew about (airbag light is on). The tech also loaded in the latest flash that was available for my truck while he was in there checking for codes. My truck has never been re-flashed since I bought it new 5 years ago. Anyway having the tranny flushed made a big difference. There is no more hesitation before the truck starts to move after pushing the accelerator when I start out from a stop. Instant throttle response now. It also shifts a lot better. It's not as sluggish any more. I am just happy that it was nothing major.

Now if I only had some extra cash for a programmer..
