Phoenix Switch-On-The-Fly Chip (DISCOUNTINUED) (Disabled)
Power Hungry no longer sells the Phoenix/TS chip, but if you need custom tuning we can recommend a few really good tuners that will be able to still provide tuning and support for your chip.

If you have any other questions or comments about the Phoenix/TS chip, please post it here.

Default What about these tunes?

Wanting to get a PHP Pheonix for my 01 with 254k. I want a tune I can set and forget unless I'm towing and was thinking the 80DD for 95% of my driving, unless you have a another favorite tune thats conservative. No lope or smoke for me please.

40tow
65tow
80tow
80DD
80performance
anti theft

Is the 80DD a tune thats kind to my stock trans but with good power? Would I even need the performance or would the DD satisfy my need for speed?

The 80 DD is a good tune for no smoke and good power. I prefer the 100 HP tune, a little smoke, but better low end power than the DD. I also have a 6 sp, so I lose boost every time I shift, which you won't really do. I will tell you one thing, the FU is definately the way to go. I enjoy the hell out of mine.

This is JMHO so take it for what it's worth I'd drop the 80t because when I tow anything under 10k the 80dd works fine & is great for everyday driving. As far as a perf tune I'd go 100 or 120 because eventually you'll wonder how good it would run with the extra horses if you only had a 80perf. I also use the high-idle quiet a bit, it's great for spinning the A/C when you're just sitting or taking a nap. So here is my suggestion,
40t
65t
80dd
120perf/race
high-idle
anti-theft
Like I said JMHO, good luck

I like the 80dd for shifting in traffic its smooth almost like stock til you put your foot down, i did get it to smoke too lol, the 100 performance is pretty smooth as well, lil smoke if you get on it, 120 is intense so hold on.

OK, so now I'm narrowing it down thanks to y'all.
How bout'
40t
65t
80dd
100performance
anti-theft

And thats it, five settings...I like to follow the KISS rule or keep it simple and stupid. That also includes putting it on one setting and leaving it alone.

Since I'm on trans. no 3 I'm tranny paranoid but do you think 100perf., if I don't drive like a spoiled highschooler, will be gentle enough on my trans. to be the predominate setting or keep it on the 80dd and leave 100perf. for when I'm feeling frisky?

This is my Setup, and so far I LOVE it:

Stock (For diagnostics, or if I let one of my little brothers drive it, lol!)
80hp Daily Driver
100hp Performance
120hp Race
65hp Moderate Tow
40hp Heavy Tow

I figured light tow could be done in stock or 80hp DD, no biggie.
I didn't bother with Hight Idle because mine automatically goes into high idle (1000rpms) when it's cold. I talked to corey about smoke show and he said that 120 race was pretty much the same.

So, I gotta ask. Other than 120 Race which is your predominant setting, 80 DD or 100 Performance and why?

catman, that looks like it would do what you need but you might as well put the stock tune in one of the slots, it's free & I believe they like to put something in all the positions iirc. BTW I don't believe you'll be disappointed with any of Bill's tunes.

ToMang07 mine goes into the high idle when it's cold but the good thing about it is in the summer it's great, by the time I get the horses unsaddled & loaded in the trailer the trucks nice & cool in the cab & ready to roll

I pretty much leave it on 80hp DD, but when I'm passing I usually flip it into 100hp Perf. Not that it won't do fine in 80hp, but might as well flip the chip!

I will let it idle in stock now that I have the option, seems the HPOP has to work a lot harder when the tunes are on.... you can hear it when you turn the chip on... I just figure at idle it really doesn't matter, but it might help.

i cant stand the way my truck runs on stock, i dont even have a stock setting on my chip, lol if your hpop is having 'noises' then you probably have an issue with it, not php related.
