A "touchy" pedal is just the way the PCM has been reprogrammed to respond to pedal movement, since everything is electronic. It can be programmed to have a different "feel" if your friend finds it objectionable. Much of this is due to the way Bill perceived your friend's tuning goals were.
The CS will give you extra "bling" - it DOES look nicer. The CS/CTS platform seems to program the truck quicker than the older model. It can be plugged into the OBD port with the ignition on or off. But, it doesn't have the datalogging capabilities of the older model and doesn't let you adjust WOT shift points - yet (maybe someday).
I have the older model and the CTS and I only use the CTS.
