anyone changed valve cover gaskets- 2v 5.4???
has anyone done this. im wanting to replace the gaskets, the oe ones leak.
if i have to pull plugs or coils forget it. lol

yes, you will have to pull the coil packs... i think you can get away without having to pull the plugs... the valve cover will have small gaskets around the base that do not allow oil to reach the plug... they are prone to leak... mine leaks as well... you will have to pull the EGR line off... it will run from the EGR valve to the manifold... its gonna be rusty, no doubt... start spray penitration oil like PB blaster on it when the engine is cool and then let it sit over night or at least 4/5 hours... continuously spraying oil on it if possible (not for the whole 4/5 hours but about every hour or so)... i don't think you will have to pull the EGR valve but if you do then watch the long bolt on the valve next to the firewall... its a 10mm and you will break it.... i did! its not a 10mm anymore on my truck ... you'll also have to disconnect the wiring harness to the injectors... i think it runs over the valve covers... i'm sure you'll have to pull some vacume lines to... just remember where they go... or mark them somehow to put them back the way they were...
