Default Gryphon FICM programmer

I just received my Gryphon FICM programmer, and I am waiting for my F250 6.0L to come home from the shop with a complete engine overhaul. ARP, Bulletproof, etc, etc. . . .
I had the Gryphon in my F150 and loved the diagnostic part of the unit. My question is, can I use my FICM Gryphon for engine diagnostics, or is it only for loading different FICM strategies???

It will also has monitor capabilities, I can post later with a list of all it can monitor. It can also read/clear DTC, and run performance like 0-60 and either 1/8 or 1/4 mile, but I can't remember right now.
