Default Lets Talk EGT'S, and tunes

In my 140race i can hit 1400 with an intake and 4" turbo back is anyone else getting this high. Lastly whats everyone running for a dd tune and what kind of mpg's are you seeing. Ive had the chip in for 2 days now and am impressed but the trans seams so hang up in 3rd in 140race but trans dont slip or temp dont rise very fast but make sure i got it pointed in the right direction bc is gone.

thats pretty dang hot, i've seen 1200 or so on mine on the 120 tune, i run 80dd(in traffic) or 100 performance, 120 is nice for highway cruising, MPG's are slightly better actually.. i couldnt give you a number but i'll tell you they went up(if i keep my foot outta it that is).

ya thats why i figured i should see what everyone eles was getting. The guy claimed it had an 4" exhaust. I shouldve measured the down pipe when i had it off the turbo would a stock exhaust let the temps get that hot

Default Turbo surge

I just got my FU chip installed today. What a difference in performance. I was running the 100 performance tune leaving a stoplight and got on it pretty good. I got some turbo surge and was wonder would a ww help this and would this still be considered a mild mod for my FU chip? BTW, love the chip so far.

W-W took care of my surge & quite a bit cheaper than a ported housing.

Normal temps.

More power, more fuel. More fuel, more heat.

In 140, I get 1200-1250 tops. Have a 4" dp with 5" exhaust. Haven't seen 1400, and I've romped on it. I see 600-800 drinving normally.

Highly unlikely that you have modified injectors if the tuning works fine......

There are a lot of things to take into account here:

Ambient temperature
Elevation
Fuel quality
Engine mechanical condition
High pressure oil system "health"
Vehicle weight
Boost/drive pressure leaks

The best thing to do in your case is to put in a straight-through muffler on the stock exhaust system as it's plenty big to support stock injectors and it won't cost you an arm and a leg. My 2000 has a muffler from a 1995-1997 PSD and it's quiet and it was free. The downpipe is stock....at this point, it's certainly not hurting anything.
