The Conversation Pit This is where EVERYTHING else goes. No subject is too mundane. How's the weather in your area? Did your kid cut his first tooth? Really, what do you think about the President? And don't get me started on Cummins and Duramaxes. Have at it! |

How to keep weeds and grass from growing in a chainlink fence
Let me start off by saying since I got a chainlink fence last year the I've made a major investment in weed eater trimmer line....
Over the course of this winter and spring I did a lot of research on how to combat the problem....I was determined not to use herbicides.... My final idea to the problem was this..... Its old bailer belting from a round bailer that I got from an impliment salvage yard. For the whole fence it only cost $50. I had toyed with this idea last year looking at new belting but the lineal cost was staggering at +$2 per foot.... I was able to use a hole saw and drill a hole the size of the post....I then notched it using a swazall and tucked it under the fence and slipped it around the post.... Here's what it looks like now.....

Very neat looking, 88! I guess your neighbor is pretty happy with it too?

My other adjoining neighbor wants me to put it under his fence also, plus I have 3 others in the neighborhood that are interested too...
