Default DIY Mods?

I fixing to get a Phoenix chip but I like to know what DIY mods I can do before hand that will help over all with out hurting anything?
I know I have to do a intake mod, I like to do a 4" down pipe all the way back, is there any thing else that I can do or should I do?

If your exhaust is still good maybe just put a free flowing muffler on it, the huge stock muffler is the big restriction

you can search Walker BTM for 7.3 & come up with a part # I believe

I just hate to see folks cut a perfectly good exhaust off like someone I could mention...me. I don't believe the 4" exhaust gained me much if anything at all on a stock truck with just a chip but I had no idea about other options when I bought the 4"

Other things to check out are the Zoodad and Hutch mod. Both of which have merit, but I dont know if there is any proven gains.

4" exhaust, I don't think you will see any gains. But I do like the sound a lot better. Not as much popping from the exhuast. And if you do more upgrades, you will benefit from it.

6637 filter is pretty cheap and worth doing.

Zoodad mod....don't know if I gained anything. I just like tinkering with my truck.

Shim the fpr to provide a better fuel supply for all 8 injectors. This can be done with just a screw. But you might want to get the filter bowl gasket kit. The gasket behind the compression nut was desintigrated on mine.

Wicked wheel, $75 and prevents surge. Cured mine 100%.
