It attaches to a ball, but then you pull forward to line up the trailer and then you attach stabilizing bars that lock the trailer to the receiver/hitch effectively making it all one single unit. At that point, your trailer "tongue" extends all the way underneath the vehicle.

So there wont be any articulation between truck and trailer? Just don't break any stabilizer bars......things might get a little weird. |

There is vertical articulation, just not horizontal articulation.

Equalizer is the other hitch/pulling system that utilizes the "equalizer bars" |
I have the Equilizer hitch and never had a bit of trouble with sway. But, I DO like the way you can jackknife the trailer in that setup and continue to turn.
